Make an official Canada eTA request

The official Canada eTA was created by the Government of Canada to streamline visa applications and requests for more or less long stays of nationals on Canadian soil. The Canada eTA application is only made online; there is therefore no need to go to the Canadian embassy or consulate to obtain it, because it is not the same operation as for a visa application.

Indeed, the Canadian government has set up an online-only application and processing system. It is possible to apply for an official Canada eTA via the website of the Government of Canada provided for this purpose or through independent sites that will accompany you in your administrative steps and will verify the data provided in order to avoid any error that could lead to the refusal of your official eTA Canada.

When applying for an official Canada eTA, you will be asked to complete the eTA form.

You will need to enter various information and personal details about yourself, such as your first name, last name, address, place and date of birth, occupation, etc.

In this eTA online form, you will also have to answer questions about your background: your state of health, your past problems with the law, if you have ever been refused entry to Canada or another country, etc.

It is very important to have a valid passport to apply for an official eTA Canada, because the eTA is linked to the number of your biometric or electronic passport. If you need to obtain a new passport, then you will need to submit a new eTA application.
