What is eTA Canada?
The Canada eTA is an Electronic Travel Authorization that allows nationals of certain countries to travel to Canada by air without applying for a visa at the Canadian Embassy. An eTA Canada (in English “eTA Canada”) is valid for five years and allows you to make several tourist trips of up to six months during this period. It must also be used for transits on Canadian territory.
You can complete the formalities for entering Canada directly on the Internet by clicking on online form . It is not necessary to obtain an appointment at the Canadian embassy or consulate.
It should also be noted that the Canada eTA is a document linked to the applicant’s passport, so it is no longer valid once the passport has expired. If you obtain a new passport during the 5 years of validity of the eTA, you must submit a new authorization request.
Who can apply for a Canada eTA?
A Canada eTA application can be made by nationals of countries entitled to a visa waiver and wishing to travel to Canada by air.

Where to apply for Canada eTA?
To complete your Canada eTA request, simply go to the official Canadian government website or use an independent site, such as that of our partner, who will complete the request for you. The eTA application can only be made online. So you don’t have to go to the Canadian Embassy to get it.
On the official government website, you need to enter various data about yourself, such as your first and last name, nationality, place of birth, contact details, etc. Your passport data will also be requested: passport number, date of issue and issuing country, expiry date, etc.
You must also answer a series of questions relating to your background, such as whether the Canadian government has ever denied you a visa or work permit in the past or whether you have been ordered to leave the country, whether you have been diagnosed with tuberculosis or if you suffer from alcoholism.
Note: if you have lost your Canada eTA , it is possible to recover it on the official website of the Canadian government. For more information, see the article dedicated to this subject.
On a private site, the application form is simplified and will be checked by a team of professionals before validation. Rest assured that the eTA received will be just as official as an authorization requested on the official website. The difference is simply based on the assistance offered to you in order to help you in this process and reduce the risk of refusal. Indeed, most Travel Authorization refusals are due to a typing error, a typo or an error in the passport number.
